Innovative Interview with David Neal

December 08, 20233 min read

“There are more people you can help now because of these enhancements.” - David Neal, Brokerage Sales Director for Mutual of Omaha

IFG is excited to have David Neal, Brokerage Sales Director for Mutual of Omaha, in the podcast studio for a "no-fluff" style interview with IFG's Vice President of Final Expense Sales, Don Fransko. David Neal shares what's new with Mutual of Omaha, including the relaunch of the iconic Wild Kingdom, showing every Saturday at 8:30 am central on NBC!

Don breaks the ice with a few questions for David:

  • What's your top album of all time?

  • What was your first concert?

  • Favorite Food, movie, hobbies?

Getting to know David Neal better in the podcast studio was great fun. Don steered the conversation to the new changes happening with Mutual of Omaha's products and highlighted Mutual of Omaha's Living Promise for Final Expense as one of Don's must-haves to offer his clients. It is a great product, easy to write, competitively priced, and, with recent changes, a better offering.

Significant changes to the E-App process:

Mutual of Omaha now allows a text signature option in addition to the in-person signature and email. A game changer, now with a more enhanced E-App process, Mutual of Omaha has streamlined the application process with fewer clicks and pop-ups, and it is now available for agents.

Changes to the Living Promise product:

  • The level benefit plan increased the maximum benefit from $40,000 to $50,000 across all age groups.

  • Within the graded benefit plan, the diabetes age dropped from 50 to 45.

  • Marijuana is no longer considered an unlawful substance, which helps in the application process and underwriting.

David shares, "There are more people you can help now because of these enhancements."

All kidding aside, Don and David continue the conversation to include the Mutual of Omaha Children's Whole Life Product. A great add-on or by itself to the Living Promise policy, it has guaranteed insurability with the ability to add additional coverage without any new evidence of insurability or underwriting. Don shares, "As they age, they could become sick or uninsurable. This rider handles that." David encourages those unfamiliar with the Children's Life product to contact Mutual of Omaha to learn more.

Consider IULE and the TLE

Indexed Universal Life Express (IULE)

Simplified issued underwriting, Mutual of Omaha offers three products where clients need higher coverage and death benefits up to $300,000. Mutual of Omaha is still the only carrier with a truly simplified issued IUL product.

David urges agents who have yet to use or look at the three IULE products Mutual of Omaha offers to take a look. Dynamic and flexible, IULE is a final expense alternative with a significant pricing advantage.

Again, you will see a pricing advantage, lower cost, permanent product, and cash values that grow on a tax-deferred basis. The client can assess those funds as loans on a tax-free basis, with tax-deferred growth, tax-free income, product flexibility, and much more significant potential upside.

Term Life Express (TLE)

David encourages agents to look at Mutual of Omaha's TLE, which is primarily thought of as a mortgage protection product. David explains that it is so much more and the product's income protection scenario is outstanding.

Mutual of Omaha's 4Quarters Club - Bonus Program

As of January of 2023, Mutual of Omaha introduced the Four Quarters Club, offering a 10% bonus with four opportunities to qualify. Each quarter, once you hit the minimum of $25,00 of premium, agents can earn a 10% bonus that is uncapped. Paid quarterly, this includes their entire simplify issue and critical illness product portfolios.
