The Innovative Interview with Adam Rees

Hosted by Director of Marketing and Sales Matthew Murray, IFG is excited to visit with Adam Rees, VP of Sales for Innovative Financial Group.

Matthew and Adam reflected on how far IFG's video technology, podcast recordings, and marketing systems in the digital space have grown in the last few years. The two reflect on the initial challenges and how perseverance and fearless exploration of multiple marketing and communication channels have yielded impressive results.  

Matthew asks Adam, "Where do you see the trend in communication headed, through different channels of communication, social media, email that you've seen? Where do you see it going in the future?"

Adam explains the importance of culture within the agency based on communication. With today's rapid technological evolution, you can expand your message to a larger audience. With the growth IFG has experienced, it is a different world. Communicating consistently with every agent is impossible. Therefore, it is critical to have systems in place to assist you with sharing your message with larger audiences.

Adam explains how past attitudes in the industry have always been to withhold information and put a price on it. Tyler Rees's vision for IFG is the opposite. First, showcase the excellent training and access to the Innovative and Friends group. Then, share willingly and abundantly with all agents inside and outside IFG the information they need to serve their clients well and succeed at no cost. 

A recent example is the ACA training Adam Rees co-directed with Marques Pagan and other notable under-65 healthcare experts. Agents inside and outside IFG had a place to plug in to get the information they were interested in for free. Matthew explains that people will reach out over time because they received so much for free. So what do they get when contracted with IFG?

It's the perfect recruiting tactic instead of the contract game. Adam explained, "Comp is very important. It's how we make a living and support our families. And we don't want to minimize that. But my brother Tyler Rees, founder and CEO of IFG, has a motto. 'So if that's the first thing that comes up in discussions, we may not be a good fit.' Not because we can't give the highest comps, we can ... But more importantly, when people come to Innovative, they come because of the culture: the resources, the tools, the training, and the support. All the variables that make agents successful."
