Kerri Lenderman shares her perspective, "We do believe there's a lot of noise happening in the marketplace. Patients are pulled left and right by marketing firms, financial advisers, and advertisements on TV. Especially right now, during the Annual Enrollment Period. It's confusing. In the market, there are dozens of plans. Most seniors have a tough time comparing plans side by side. When you consider their care team and the medications they are taking, whether or not they travel, and budget concerns, where do they start? What I see is that most seniors are asking their providers. Why wouldn't that make sense? The insurance they are buying is covering the services from those healthcare providers. In this business model, we started working directly with primary care physicians. Then, as hospital systems were acquiring primary care physicians, we turned our attention to the health systems. And in the last dozen years, we formed strong partnerships with large health systems that cross multiple state boundaries."
